About the event
Harvest, Heritage & Unity: A Kwanzaa-Inspired Culinary Journey is a 3-hour hands-on cooking experience celebrating the rich food traditions of the African diaspora.
Guests will prepare and taste dishes such as Ethiopian Doro Alicha (Golden Chicken Stew), West African Jollof Rice, Caribbean Callaloo with coconut, and Coconut–Sorghum Rice Pudding for dessert!
Along the way, we’ll explore the history, culture, and ingredients that connect these dishes across continents, honoring the principles of Kwanzaa through food, community, and storytelling. Come ready to learn, cook, taste, and celebrate unity around the table.
The class concludes with a family-style dining experience, where everyone comes together to enjoy the fruits of their labor, share stories, and connect with one another, honoring the principles of community, culture, and unity at the heart of Kwanzaa.
