About the event
Love Letters to Black History: A Valentine’s-Inspired Cooking Class
This Black History Month, we invite you to gather in the kitchen for an experience rooted in love, legacy, and liberation.
In this interactive cooking class, we explore how love has always shown up in Black history—not only in romance, but in family, community, care, and resistance. Each dish is presented as a love letter to the people, traditions, and stories that have shaped Black foodways across generations.
Together, we’ll cook comforting, soulful dishes that reflect the Black home kitchen, the land, and the joy found in gathering around the table. Along the way, we’ll share history, cultural context, and techniques that honor the past while nourishing the present.
Whether you’re joining with a partner, friends, or coming solo, this class is a space to connect, learn, and celebrate Black history through food made with intention.
